What is Let's Encrypt SSL?

Let’s Encrypt is a free, automated and open certificate authority (CA) that is run for the public’s benefit. It is a service that is provided by the Internet Security Research Group (ISRG). Let’s Encrypt allows website owners to enable HTTPS (SSL/TLS) on their websites free of charge.

Clark Site Solutions provisions Let’s Encrypt Wildcard SSL certificates only. This certificate applies to any and all of your subdomains. ex. https://blog.clarksitesolutions.com and https://www.clarksitesolutions.com and https://anything.clarksitesolutions.com/.

Let’s Encrypt Wildcard SSL certificates are issued for a period of 90-days. When installed using the GreenGeeks SSL Installer, your certificate’s are renewed automatically. Since these certificates are domain-validated, they do not require a dedicated IP to be issued.

To enable Let’s Encrypt on any of your hosted domain names, please contact support.
